"Riddle or Mystery?”
John 10:22-30
There is a lot about this Gospel passage that is confusing.
We can’t solve all its mysteries—that’s why we are a people of faith. If we could solve them, we would be a people of knowledge instead.
The mystery in this text is the Holy Trinity. I don’t know how to explain it, but I do believe it.
So, what is this text trying to tell us? It’s trying to show us that all the water in the world cannot save us—because we are saved by grace. The grace of God, who knows us and calls us into relationship. We are part of God’s flock. God knows us, and we know God’s voice.
Are we ready to give all we have, and all we will ever be, to God?
