"Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy”
2 Kings 2:1-2, 6-14 & Luke 9:51-62
It is surprising that the commander of an army would take the advice of his servant girl—but Naaman does.
Naaman is angry when Elisha does not personally appear before him, instead sending a messenger with instructions. Yet God is with Naaman, and that is all it takes.
Elisha knows the power of God. The prophet has witnessed God at work.
Our loving God is still at work, so we should not be surprised by God’s activity.
However, we are often disappointed or uncomfortable when God works for the good of people we disapprove of or consider unworthy.
Naaman’s experience of God’s healing power changed him both physically and spiritually.
Perhaps our trust in God and our response to people’s needs will bring about surprising change as well.
